Tortuguero – Guided Day or Night Hike

Day tours: 8:30 am, 11am and 2 pm Night tours: 6:30 pm
Tortuguero is a very special area in Costa Rica. Wild and remote with water canals that allow for plenty of spectacular wildlife and amazing vegetation. Taking a guided hike is the best way to see the wide array up close. Your naturalist guild will pick you up* for a 2-hour tour. With a keen eye and trained ears, your guides have the experience to point out interesting birds, animals, insects, and plant life. They have a telescope ready to offer you close-up views and photos.

Tortuguero – River Float

3-hour Canoe or Kayak tour 5:45 am, 8:30 am, 11 am, 2 pm
Tortuguero has miles of canals that are home to an amazing array of wildlife from river otters, manatees, and crocodiles to ocelots, lizards, snakes, and monkeys. There is a large selection of birds too. Your certified guides will help you explore the canals in a canoe or kayak. The biodiversity of this remote jungle area is almost overwhelming.

Tortuguero – Turtle tour

Typically at 8 pm and 10 pm. If the Arribada is large there will be daytime tours available.
Tortuguero is on the East Coast of Costa Rica and is world-famous as a nesting area for the Atlantic Green Sea Turtle. Your naturalist guide will pick you up* and take you to the beach where you can witness a process that has been happening for thousands of years. The season lasts from June to October with July and August having the largest number of turtles coming ashore. When there is a mass arrival of turtles it is called an Arribada.
