Hiking Rincon de la Vieja national park and the surrounding private reserve is an amazing experience. 2 ½ hour hike and tall waterfall
Hike through the Vieja forest spotting birds and animals as you go. During this tour you will discover two beautiful waterfalls, the tallest is 35 meters (115 feet) where you can go down a short but steep descent and swim in the pristine waters at the base. This is a moderate hike of 4 kilometers (2.5 miles). Relax at the falls before heading back.

Rincon de la Vieja Volcano is the most active volcano in Costa Rica and this 5-hour hiking tour takes in three wonders of the Rincon de la Vieja national park. Once you enter the park you will do a 3.5-kilometer (2.1 miles) loop that will take you to the prehistoric bubbling cauldrons with volcanic mud, mini-geysers, and steaming fumaroles. The national park is home to 300 species of birds, two species of monkeys (Howler and Spider), Peccaries, snakes, and many more animals.
The second stop on the hike is a 25-meter (82 foot) waterfall. The waters are crystal clear, and you can jump in and cool off. The canyon is beautiful and relaxing, the perfect location to add to your photo gallery. From here you will be taken to the most popular destination of the Rincon de la Vieja national park: the hot springs. The natural thermally heated waters flow through 10 natural-looking man-made pools that line a free-flowing river. After a short hike and crossing a hanging bridge, you can revitalize your skin with volcanic mud, soak in the hot spring pools, and refresh in the cool river. A fantastic end to your amazing adventure.

These are 10 man-made, natural-looking pools the line a refreshing free-flowing river. Also included is a delicious lunch.
