This early morning tour starts at 5:30 am. You will be picked up* by your guides and start the ride to the Tortuguero national park, one of the most important nesting sights for the green sea turtle.
Along the way, you will drive through Braulio Carrillo national park. This park is famous for its steep mountains, lush tropical rain forests, waterfall, and abundant animal life. After passing through the park you will stop for breakfast before visiting a banana plantation where you will be introduced to the history of the area and how a plantation its processes.
After the plantation, you will be taken to the dock where your boat will be waiting to take you through the 29,000 hectares (71,600 acres) Tortuguero national park. Tortuguero is world-famous for lush tropical jungles, waterways, and pristine beaches for turtle nesting. During this boat tour keep your eyes open for manatees, crocodiles, sloths, monkeys, big cats, and the huge abundance of bird and butterfly life.
Once you reach the Tortuguero village you will be treated to a delicious lunch and are free to explore and learn about the interesting history of this remote village and the national park.
