Dolphin watching and snorkeling are fun for the whole family. In some areas, it is possible to go by tour boat or catamaran. Around Costa Rica there are several types of dolphins: Bottlenose, Spotted, Spinner, Rough Tooth, and the Common Dolphin. Some pods can range from just a few to several thousand. For your safety, you are not allowed to swim with the dolphins as they are large, fast, and playful so there is a chance of being injured by accident. After seeing the dolphins you will snorkel near coral reefs close to shore.
